Algodon Mansion Benos Aires.

Visit the hotel Algodon Mansion, Buenos Aires

Located in the heart of Argentina, in one of the noblest neighborhoods, Recoleta, is the most exquisite boutique hotel in the city, designed by Scott Mathis, Algodon.

The Mansion’s suites provide comfort and luxury with technology. All of them are equipped with iPod docks and flat-screen TVs, and some units have a living room, which makes the experience more comfortable and the accommodation more spacious.

The bathrooms are spectacular, the ambiance is expansive and covered in Italian Calacatta marble and French limestone. It still offers two types of bath: for the more tiring days you can relax in the hot tub, but you can also choose to take a shower in the large waterfall style steam shower designed by Hansgrohe.

The most interesting thing is that you can book the entire hotel for you and your guests, or rather the mansion and thus make your way through Buenos Aires even more unique.

Algodon also offers facilities such as a gym, a terrace with a swimming pool and a rooftop and a Spa, where you can relax the way you prefer.

The treatments offered at Le Spa are made with Stendhal Paris products and with a mix of French and Swiss techniques, so your guests can enjoy from a sauna to a facial treatment exclusive to the place.

Breakfast is served in the room with pampering as croissant, but your lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at Algodon WineBar, the hotel’s private restaurant. In addition to serving sophisticated dishes from Argentinean cuisine, the property has its own wine production and they can be tasted on the spot.

What to do in Rio de Janeiro: meet the main tourist attractions

If you have never been to Rio de Janeiro, regardless of whether you are Brazilian or not, it is common to have this doubt of where to go beyond the Christ Redeemer, what are the high points of the city and so on. That’s why I came here to save you when you set up your itinerary to get to know the wonderful city.

The high points of the city are the beaches (obvious). Rio is basically just that, but there are the best beaches to be in and, in my opinion, these are Ipanema beach, Leblon and famous Copacabana.

Praia de Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro.

When passing through Copacabana, be sure to visit the iconic Belmond Copacabana Palace, where I recommend the Sunday Brunch by the pool, or dine at the renowned Cipriani.

Besides the beaches you can visit also:

  • Morro Santa Tereza

Visiting the sights with sight and the famous staircase Selarion is a must stop. Once you are there, enjoy your lunch on the third or pleasant day. I love that hipster part of the city and then stay in the small street bars drinking and enjoying the breeze, it’s like the Vila Madalena in São Paulo.

  • Cristo Redentor

It is inevitable to think about Rio and not want to go to Christ, so consider another mandatory stop. I recommend that you go in the morning and do not miss on the internet if the sky is clear or cloudy and buy your ticket online in advance to avoid filing monstrous.

  • Pão de Açúcar

Automatically is the stop after the visit to Christ. If scheduled in advance, this includes buying the ticket over the internet. In my opinion, the Pão de Açucar has the best view of the city.

  • Museu do amanhã

For those who, like me, love a beautiful architectural design the place is a full plate. The iconic building is a project of the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and is surrounded by the square Maua, in the port area of Rio, being thus the seaside. Well worth the visit.

Juju Coelho na Pedra da Gávea, no Rio de Janeiro.

Get to know Pedra da Gávea, one of the highest peaks in Rio de Janeiro

The Pedra da Gávea trail is the ideal challenge for those looking for adventure, adrenaline and the most beautiful look of Rio de Janeiro – RJ.

The Pedra da Gávea has 842 meters and is one of the most famous rock formations of the wonderful city. Going up Pedra is the dream of many travelers and Cariocas, because from the top of the largest rock block by the sea the world is possible to see the Bay of Guanabara and some of the main beaches of the city of Rio de Janeiro as Ipanema, Leblon, Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado, as well as some other mountains of the Tijuca National Park, such as Tijuca Peak, Papagaio Peak, Pedra Bonita and Corcovado, and on days of blue sky you can also see the mountains of the Serra dos Órgãos.

The Pedra da Gávea trail is considered a very beautiful walk and with several natural obstacles easy to overcome, but most of the time the climb is steep and heavy.

The main challenges on the Pedra da Gávea trail are the great climb of about three to four and a 30-meter stretch of basic level climbing called Carrasqueira. The good thing is that to win the climb in the Carrasqueira is not necessary to have previous experience.

I recommend everyone who wants to make the trail take the backpack with at least 2 liters of water, snack, and repellent. Choose some sneakers without a cushioning system that provides firmness to your feet or, if possible, buy suitable footwear for this type of adventure.

The city of Bogota, by local people

Traveling is good, but traveling with tips from local people is much better. See the tips below from my local friend from Bogotá, Pedro Gómez.

The first point is to decide the hotels, so he indicated us the best ones to see, which are the Click clack, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, Opera Hotel.

Click Clack is a hotel located only 10 minutes from the T-zone of the city. There you can enjoy a comfortable stay with meals right overlooking the beautiful city in the restaurant Ciengramos on the terrace of the hotel.

The Second, which serves contemporary dishes accompanied by the best wines. Carnival in Rio de Janeiro: The best cabins in Sapucaí

When we talk about carnival in Brazil the first places that come to mind are Salvador and Rio de Janeiro, but since I only knew the Rio de Janeiro, we will talk about my recommendations of better cabins during the parades of samba schools, to you already prepare for next year.

Being very brief: the best cabins in Sapucaí are the Camarote Nº1,
Nosso Camarote, Camarote Allegria and the Camarote Club Arpoador.

My choices and reviews of Carnival in Sapucaí 2019

I opted for the first day of carnival on the river to watch the parade on the Freixe just across the avenue. I really enjoyed the experience, but I thought I was missing music and eat and drink, which only the cabins offer.

Juju Coelho Pinto no Freixe da Sapucaí

Luckily, my friends from the band Jota Quest saw my stories and invited me to enjoy their show at the Arpoador Cabin.

The Arpoador cabin had its first year this year and I found the assembly of the place and the public in general very nice for those who seek to watch the parade in a rhythm of celebration.

Juju Coelho Pinto com Rogério flausino e Play.

On the second and third day of the Carnival of 2019 I chose to go in Camarote Number 1, which, despite being the most expensive, I consider the best cabin in Rio de Janeiro.

Juju Coelho Pinto no Camarote nº1

Now, the cabin that caught my eye this year, which also included a very nice crowd, was “Nosso Camarote”. In addition to allowing you to watch the parades, you also offered daily tickets to an after party for those who wanted to see the sunrise on the avenue until lunchtime.

Now there is no more excuse when choosing where to spend the carnival, you already know where to enjoy!

Meet the Vibrant City of Guatapé, Colombia

Guatapé is an Andean beach town in northwestern Colombia, known for its vast natural reservoir and the famous Pedra del Peñol.

The graceful town of Guatapé, known for its colorful houses and neoclassical architecture, is just a village near Medellín with very few inhabitants, but for its charm many tourists who seek to know a little more of the traditional customs of Colombia.

The color of the city is given by the cheerful paintings on the walls in a technique with reliefs, the known sockets, that permeate the city since the century. XX, which made the residents there known as Pueblo de Zócalos.

El Peñol is a giant granite rock southwest of the 220-meter-high city that, from the top, provides a panoramic view of the city and the artificial dam that surrounds it, but there are 650 tiresome steps up to where it is possible to enjoy the view, which is worth without any doubts!
