Dinner at the Union Interalliée in Paris

Hello Hello, Today I would like to share with you the incredible experience of being invited to a super special dinner at Henry Rothschild’s former home that now houses the Interalieé union club.

The Union Interalliée was founded in 1917, at the time of the official entry of the Americans into World War I. This came after volunteer aviators from the Lafayette Escadrille came to France to increase the number of those fighting for the same cause against the French. ground.

The founders of the Union Interalliée (Count de Beaumont, Paul Dupuy, Count J. de Bryas, Arthur Meyer, MJ de Sillac) suggested establishing a welcoming place providing moral and material resources to officials and personalities of Allied nations, the order to develop the allied life that had just begun.

Thanks to the support they received from various statesmen, ambassadors and field marshals and the help of new collaborators (Count de Andigne, Bardac, du Breuil Saint-Germain, André Citroën, L. Dumontet, the Count de Fels, who he created, together with the first, the steering committee, chaired by Vice Admiral Fournier), they founded the Union Interalliée in one of the most beautiful mansions in Paris, the Henri de Rothschild hotel, which had been generously given to them. In 1920, the club, having formed a real estate company, acquired the building for the equivalent of the current 1,067,143 euros.

With the war over, the need for the Union Interalliée was evident to all, as it was more necessary than ever to maintain harmony between the people who fought together. The work started in 1917 was officially consecrated in 1920, when the public authorities recognized its importance in diplomatic relations between the allied nations. On June 1, 1920, Marshal Foch became the second president of the Cercle.

In 2004, Chilean American interior designer Juan Pablo Molyneux designed the interiors for the club’s headquarters.

I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to discover this club to go there during their visit to the city of Paris. The place is wonderful, very well attended and the food is delicious.
