From August 22nd to September 29th, D&D Shopping in partnership with the Sheraton Hotel, will be holding the first edition of the D&D HOTEL’DESIGN show, which brings together the best names of architecture and decoration, ideas and solutions for hotels, flats and inns market focused on investors and professionals of the segment.
There are 23 spaces divided into 18 suites, three rooms in the hotel lobby and halls with the challenge of creating concept environments. Architect Carlos Rossi, a professional in the high-end architecture and decoration market for 25 years, signs “The View” suite, which, as its name suggests, has a great view of the Estaiada Bridge (city postcard), inspiration for an urban environment and potentially masculine aesthetics that has everything to do with the business tourist, so common in São Paulo, with elegance and personality.

The suite has approximately 39 m² fully integrated as requested by a contemporary hotel. “When I first visited, I came across a lower ceiling that made it possible to create a ‘box’ with floor, wall and lining in dark tones that sound minimalist and give impact and personality”, says Carlos Rossi who put the bathtub in evidence, creating a poetic atmosphere to the space.
Following, the headroom rises and includes the bed, living and bench with warm and cozy coverings, such as wood floors, wall fabrics, carpets and a large decentralized frame that brings an unusual but harmonious color point. Still on the decoration, it features a sculpture by the fine artist Bia Dória and numbered prints by Fasframe.
On the structural aspect, Rossi removed walls and partitions to provide breadth and unity to the layout, delivering unpretentious shapes that enable a clean and welcoming interaction.
For Hall and Lobby
Beyond the suite, Carlos Rossi was responsible for the hall and lobby. To this end, he designed an environment of cozy materials, lining the walls with Bucalo wallpaper with a light touch of linen to convey an idea of tailoring. The wood – presented sometimes as a portico, sometimes as beaded and corrugated – has been supplied by Duratex and is present in timeless neutral tones combined with soft and overdone lighting that signals but doesn’t pollute the vision and follows the softness option.
To bring refinement, the number of the rooms are in bas-relief with backlight. The dramatic mix of lighting makes up a game with lights that brings elegance and acts as a beacon, highlighting the porticos.
“If I had to define this project, I would use the term minimalism. The carpet is textured and, even without a defined shape, has movement and perfectly matches the porticos that lead to the suites. Regarding the photos, I opted out for striking images of São Paulo to excite the guests and cause a desire to see the city”, says Carlos Rossi.
Notably because of the restraint in the elements, we have a sculpture by artist Bia Dória (which has already been exhibited in Italy) and a floral arrangement made by The Florist who “greets” us as we leave the elevator.
