Atelier des Lumières is the center of digital art in Paris which presented an immersive exhibition of the works of the artist Gustav Klimt.
With the development of surface mapping technology, the light shows and images projected onto the facades of buildings and monuments have become increasingly frequent and sophisticated. Throughout France we have examples of these events: the Rêve des Couleurs in the cathedral of Reims, La Nuit aux Invalides and the New Year in the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and, the most stunning of all (although not in the facades but in the interior of old limestone quarries), the Carrières de Lumières in Baux de Provence.
In the immersive exhibition Carrières de Lumières, pictures of paintings by famous painters were projected on the walls, floors, and ceilings of the old quarries (limestone carrières) of the region. All accompanied by a soundtrack specially selected to harmonize with the images.
In 2018 the spectacles had as theme Picasso and the Spanish masters.
