The birthday party of São Paulo is there and nothing better than a little party in style. And of course, Rio de Janeiro remains beautiful (rs) and very close to a quick getaway from the madness of the land of drizzle. And a suggestion to enjoy is a place that I love and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful I’ve ever been: the Boutique Hotel La Suite.
Located in the residential neighborhood of Joatinga, the charming guesthouse belongs to my dear friends Rodrigo Harold and François-Xavier Dussol and looks over one of the most coveted postcards in Rio.
The idea of the inn came about 8 years ago when François came from his city in France and fell in love with the city and the people of Rio. What was to be just a visit there are some friends, ended up becoming an inspiration for the famous French designer. After that, together with Rodrigo Harold, he opened a pousada “pas comme les autres”.
The incredible ambiance is an extension of Rodrigo’s house and was entirely developed by François himself, who took care of every detail so that his guests also feel at home through a welcoming style born of the mixture of European and modern Brazilian retro influences.
In addition to the architectural project, he also took care to mince decorative items and works of art, among them pieces by designers such as Saarinen, Sergio Rodrigues and Joachim Tenreiro, gold-plated wood carvings made by Françoi-Xavier’s father, Furniture and a large black crystal chandelier made by Philippe Starck for the French brand Baccarat, which makes up the hotel’s impeccable décor.
From the entrance to the balconies, common areas and swimming pools, all environments and objects strategically positioned make the environment perfectly casual and luxurious. Art and photography books, guides and magazines are part of the decor and are available to guests, and it’s worth snooping around and wandering around the house, after all, here the concept is “being at home”.
The Hotel was voted among the top 10 of the Americas by Tablet Hotels and is part of the exclusive list of i-escapes, which has been mentioned numerous times in renowned international magazines (none other than Travel & Leisure).
The warm and special treatment of the place is dedicated to its (few) guests. Accommodated in only 7 suites, each of them is labeled by its predominant color and all of them worthy of being a room with a view on the Condé Nast page.
Not to be missed: large, well-appointed accommodations, refined linens and fittings, fluffy bathrobes, oversized bathrooms, balconies, and a hearty breakfast add to the array of amenities offered to a select few lucky guests.
In addition, of course, the very special care and attention that the hosts make a point of giving to every guest and throughout the summer, there are always the legendary parties at the hotel only for those who are staying and invited.
Wonderful, huh? Leave your comment about this little piece of paradise here!
