Lebanon is a country somewhat different from other countries. Beginning simply because it is one of the oldest countries in the world, with cities created up to three centuries before Christ, such as Sidon and Tire, which are even quoted in the Bible and the city of Beirut. Starting with the main doubt of a tourist: the visa. In most countries today a visa is needed, and if it is a country that has experienced several wars and attacks, Lebanon is no different. The Lebanese visa, although it is necessary is different from the US, for example, that you take from the country of origin through the consulates. This is taken at Beirut’s own airport, the only difficulty is to face the immigration queue. Until a few years ago, anyone who had the Israeli stamp on the passport was banned, but it is always good to find out at the Lebanese embassy or consulate.

The Lebanese capital is the buzzing Beirut. It is where I indicate for lodging since in city tours you find great bars and restaurants, cafes, famous brands and from there you can visit the historic cities by taxi or even close a tour with some company. Remembering that Beirut is also a historic city and worth to spend a bit to know the place.
Speaking locomotion, there are taxis by the airport and the city to help you with this part, prices vary a lot, mainly because it is a tourist and there is no taximeter in Lebanon, but usually they are very honest and compensates a lot.
As for communication, the official Lebanese language is Arabic but calm! Everyone in the country learns in schools to speak English and French too, so you will survive.

Lebanese specialty is Arak, a typical local alcoholic beverage, and the high quality, which is consumed from breakfast to dinner. These are two things you can not fail to prove. Already the cuisine meets the European, Mediterranean and Eastern customs, so prepare yourself for exotic and wonderful dishes, with mutton and mutton replacing the traditional beef that we are accustomed to.
